  1. Save First. Practice Expense = Earning — Saving rather than Saving = Earning — Expense. The subtle difference is as soon as you get your salary or earning, deduct some part(start with 10%) and use the rest for spending. This deducted part should be your saving. The point is to develop a habit of saving first and then spending rather than spending first and calling left over a saving(Trust me, nothing is left to save if you follow it!!)
  2. Invest in yourself. Cultivate three traits Integrity, Intelligence & Energy. Have role models for yourself and read as much as you can and on as many topics as you like. This automatically makes your mind open to new ideas and keep you prepared for any situation life can throw at you.
  3. Prepare for economic recession. Keep 1.5–2 years of your expense in liquid form like in savings bank account or ultra safe liquid fund(Calculate your monthly expense and multiply it by 18–24).This will save you lot of stress during economic recessions etc. if you lose your job due to economy. This will buy you some time to prepare yourself & ride the situation.
  4. Protect your loved one. Buy a simple term/protection plan which is about 15–20 times your current CTC.
  5. Avoid Debts. Avoid any kind of debt like credit card/ car loan/home loan etc. Use these loans wisely in such a manner that you can pay your obligations if something goes wrong.
  6. Stay positive. Irrespective of what your situation in life is try to stay positive and be thankful. Practice scaling happiness by 10 times and reducing stress by 10 times.
